Starting from November 1, 2008

"IMAGINE THERE'S NO HUNGER," a charity program based on John Lennon's masterpiece, "Imagine," will begin at all Hard Rock Cafe around the world.

Limited numbers of charity pins designed with a self-portrait illustration of John Lennon and a peace symbol, and a unique collection of rare and unreleased tracks, will be on sale. Total sales amount from the campaign will be donated to World Hunger Year (WHY), a NPO aiming to eliminate hunger and poverty.
WHY charity boxes will be placed at storefronts, and a special rubber bracelet will be given to everyone that donates more than 100 yen.

Setting the foundation for the "IMAGINE THERE'S NO HUNGER" campaign, artist and musician Yoko Ono has graciously donated her late husband John Lennon's inspirational song "Give Peace A Chance" to the SERVE3 compilation. The CD will also include rare, new or previously unreleased tracks from some of music's most influential artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Joss Stone, Avril Lavigne and more.

Overview of WHY

WHY is a nonprofit organization founded in the United States to fight hunger and poverty by radio talk show host, Bill Ayres, and the singer-songwriter Harry Chapin, in 1975. Through its innovative approach rooted in each community, WHY provides economic assistance and development, as well as ensuring food supply to the local community around the world.
Being its member, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne and many other prominent artists have provided charity campaigns through their music.
