With Osaka Popstar, singer John Cafiero has gathered together "American Legends of Punk" Marky Ramone of the world famous Ramones, Jerry Only of the Misfits, Dez Cadena of Black Flag and Ivan Julian (Richard Hell & the Voidoids & Matthew Sweet) for this ultra punk pop masterpiece. The band's visual aesthetic is heavily inspired by Japanese animation, with fire breathing devil dogs marching around on their website and in the video for the single "Wicked World". Osaka Popstar covers both the Sailor Moon & Astro Boy theme songs on their album along with original songs like "Shaolin Monkeys", which is being developed into an animated series. |
